How to take the rail journey from Venezia/Venice to Turin/Torino
The 'Frecce' trains operated by Trenitalia are currently the only direct trains available when making a rail journey from Venezia/Venice to Torino/Turin.
Pre-pandemic Italo trains were available and they were also many more departures by Frecce trains, so hopefully the current level of service is a temporary reduction.

The number of direct Frecce trains from Venezia S.Lucia station to Torino has been cut to just two departures per day, which are typically scheduled to leave daily at 06:18 and 08:18.
Though they are now faster than the previous service as they no longer divert off the quickest route to call at Milano Centrale station.
Italo has withdrawn its service of direct trains from Venezia/Venice to Torino/Turin, but there are more than a dozen journey options per day by either Italo or Frecce trains available, if you're happy to make connections between trains in Milano.

These trains will call at Torino Porta Susa station before going on to terminate at Torino Porta Nuova station.
It's worth checking which of these stations in Torino will suit you best before booking a ticket.
Both stations are on the Torino Metro, so if your final destination is adjacent to a metro station, the quickest option will be to leave the train at Torino Porta Susa.

If you're heading off from the historic heart of Venice/Venezia, then take care to select Venezia S. Lucia as the the departure station.
If you will be using an agent check that they are making a booking from Venezia S. Lucia and NOT from Venezia Mestre station.

The direct train service from Turin to Venice is now solely provided by Frecce trains operated by Trenitalia
But there are more than a dozen additional journey options per day available, which involve making a comparatively straightforward connection between trains at Milano Centrale station.
These alternative journey options are available both by taking Frecce trains Or by the alternative service of Italo trains.
Trenitalia does not sell tickets for the Italo trains - and Italo does not sell tickets for the Trenitalia trains.
If you're booking no more than 4 months ahead and have no particular preference for the train that
you will be taking, the price and departure times of the Frecce and Italo trains can be directly compared on Trainline or Omio, though look out for the fact that both of these services will charge a booking fee.

The Frecciarossa trains have now completely replaced the Frecciabianca trains on this service, since the opening of the high speed line (that these trains use) between Brescia and Milano.
They also use the high speed line between Milano and Torino, so these trains travel mainly on high speed lines once they depart from Brescia.
Like all departures from Venice one of the highlights of the journey comes at the very beginning of the trip, as the train heads out over the lagoon to the mainland - with the best of the views on the right.
Then after Padova, also on the right of the train, on a clear day, there are distant views of the Alps.
If you're on the right of the train (when facing the direction of travel) keep a look out between Desenzano and Peschiera for a fleeting, but incredible view of Lake Garda (weather permitting).
