Chiltern Railways operates two types of train on its London <> Birmingham route, these loco-hauled trains and its regular Clubman trains.
These loco-hauled trains use modernised Mark 3 coaches, which have been the primary coaches used on long-distance British express trains for more than 40 years.
Chiltern Railways has been comparatively generous with how it has fitted out these trains, they're comparatively comfortable, even in Standard Class.
The majority of the seats are at tables and most of them also line up with the windows, which contributes to a spacious ambience.
Non-folding bikes can be usually be taken on board these trains, but they are not permitted on departures from London between 16-30 and 19:30, and on arrivals into London between 07:45 and 10:00

Silver Service:
No on-board catering is available on most departures.
However, Chiltern Railways offers a 'Silver Service' in its Business Zone on selected departures on the London <> Birmingham route and it usually uses these trains, which comprise the Mark 3 coaches, when offering this service.
Complimentary drinks are offered and a higher Wi-Fi download speed is also part of the service.
