Venezia / Venice / Venedig to Rimini by train

How to take the rail journey from Venice/Venezia to Rimini on the Adriatic Coast

The only direct trains from Venezia S. Lucia, the station in the historical heart of Venice, are the two daily Frecciabianca trains heading on to Bari.

However, there are now also two daily Intercity trains from Venezia Mestre, the station on the mainland, which take the same route between Venezia Mestre and Rimini as the Frecciabianca trains; there isn't a high speed line between Venice and Rimini.

Those Intercity trains will typically be cheaper than the Freccibianca trains and users of Eurail and InterRail passes can both; avoid the €10 rail pass reservation fees charged on those Frecce trains, and hop on any train from S. Lucia station to Mestre station - in order to make the connection.
