Departing from Torino:
These trains commence their journeys at Torino Porta Nuova station and then also call at Torino Porta Susa station around 8 mins later.
So if the starting point of your journey is adjacent to the city centre Metro stations, Re:Umberto OR Vinzaglio, you will have a quicker end-to-end journey if you head to Porta Susa to catch these trains.
However, if you head to Porta Nuova to take these trains, you'll increase your chances of finding a seat and the boarding process will be simpler.
Arriving in Aosta:
Buses to ski resorts in the Aosta valley depart from Aosta train staion.
The cable car up to Pila is a 5 min walk from Aosta station - though it's on the opposite side of the station to the main entrance.
