This is a route on which the national rail operator CD, České dráhy, offers limited nunbers of ‘Special Offer’ tickets, also known as ‘Akcni jizdenka’ tickets.
Though you'll generally save only the equivalent of around €5 by booking these tickets - not because they don't offer a good deal, but because train tickets are comparatively inexpensive in Czechia/The Czech Republic.
Our general guide to Czech train tickets is available here - and we have also published a guide to booking tickets on the CD website.
The alternative Regiojet trains:
Trains operated by Regiojet now complete with the other trains on this route, tickets for these Regiojet services are not sold by CD, they can be booked on the Regiojet website.

When making a journey by express train between Praha and Brno you can travel by four different services - most of which are international trains heading on to Austria or Slovakia.
1: Railjets heading to Graz/Wien:
Due to works on the lines in the Brno area, the Railjets are still calling at Brno hl.n station, the city's main station, but the other train services are currently calling at alternative stations - with buses providing the link to Brno hl.n.
2: EC trains heading to Bratislava and Budapest:
The daytime service is arranged so that in even hours a Railjet departs, while in odd hours a EuroCity (EC) train departs.
Both the RJ and EC trains convey restaurant cars.
3: On certain days of the week there are also EX trains.
Reservations are possible on all three of these services - which can be booked on the CD website, but they're not compulsory.
4: Trains operated by Regiojet now complete with the other trains on this route, tickets for these Regiojet services are not sold by CD, instead they can be booked on the Regiojet website.
All trains also call at: Pardubice
It's not a particularly beautiful journey, but when the trains travel between Chocen and Ceska Trebovba, east of Pardubice, this part of the trip is marked green for scenic, on the European Rail Map.
