Rail Pass Users:

Booking reservations in advance online on the SJ website is highly recommended - particularly if you will be travelling between Friday and Sundays and around holiday dates.
It's not unknown for the most popular trains to sell out completely days in advance in both 1st and 2nd class.

The instructions for how to do this are here.

Or it's possible to avoid the rail pass fees by taking a longer alternative route.

SJ Guide

SJ is the national rail operator in Sweden, so journeys within Sweden can be booked online on its relatively simple to use ticketing service, which is convenient, as there are significant savings to be made on long-distance express journeys.
SJ now also sell tickets for journeys by Snalltaget trains, but not the MTR services which compete with SJ on the Stockholm to Gothenburg route.

SJ also sells tickets for journeys by train between Sweden and both Denmark and Norway.

Good to Know

It is not possible to use these trains for journeys between København/Copenhagen and Malmo.

Final Destination: Stockholm

All trains also call at: Norrköping and Linköping

Departing from Kobenhavn/Copenhagen:

Aim to be at København H station at least 15mins before the train departs - these trains depart from a platform/track/spor, which is located some distance from the main concourse at København H.

From Kobenhavn/Copenhagen to Stcokholm by train:

We haven't classed this as a scenic journey, though the Swedish landscape is easy on the eye.

Though this journey does it have its wow moments including the crossing of the Oresund Bridge between Denmark and Sweden.
Though apart from looking down at the water, there isn't much to see from the train (apart from the sea).

What can be rather lovely are the fairly frequent views of the small, but glistening lakes which the train will travel by in Sweden - the videos wee captured to the north of Lund.

Much more spectcular, than crossing the Oresund Bridge in terms of what can be seen from the trains is the view from Sweden's highest railway bridge at Sodertlaje - which the train will travel over around 30 mins before it will arrive in Stockholm.
