Penzance is a terminus because it always been the most south-westerly point of the UK rail network and as a result the station has always had a romantic aura, being the end point of a beautiful journey across Devon and Cornwall.
Being a terminus it is also a gratifyingly easy station to use at the culmination of a long train ride.
The access between the trains and bus station, taxi rank town centre and ferry terminal is step-free.
The easy interchange with the local buses is particularly useful for those travelling yet further west to destinations which have never been touched by railways.
